Acts

How God Formed His Church

New Testament ยท Acts

Summary

The parallel introduction demonstrates that the writer of Acts and the writer of Luke were the same person. The 'we' passages confirm Luke's authorship. Historical references at the conclusion of the book place it in the early sixties, about A.D. 61-63. The Book of Acts picks up the story where Luke concludes. The Messiah has come, Israel's leaders did not want to hear the good news, and the message went to the Gentiles instead.
